MESA, AZ - A Mesa intersection reopened Friday night after a car crash caused serious injuries to a 6-year-old, Phoenix police spokesman Tony Landato said.
The two cars entered the intersection of Southern Avenue and Sossaman Road, one turned left and the Hyundai Santa Fe and Jeep collided, Landato said.
The driver of the Jeep, a 50-year-old grandmother was okay but her two granddaughters, ages 6 and 9 were transported to the hospital, the 6-year-old suffering serious injuries, Landato said.
The driver of the SUV, a 20-year-old mom, driving with her child in the car as well, was uninjured.
