MESA, AZ - Nothing beats the moment you meet your child for the first time.
For one Mesa man it was a moment that happened almost half a century after his daughter was born and it was all thanks to social media.
It's a reunion that is 47 years in the making. It was filled with hugs, laughter and even tears after Melissa Plessinger pulled into her biological father's driveway Monday morning.
David Hall finally met his daughter, Plessinger, 47, after she got an anonymous letter in the mail in early June stating she needed to ask her mother about her father.
Melissa Plessinger found out that she had never met her biological father so she turned to Facebook for help.
Plessinger posted a picture to Facebook on Father's Day hoping to find the father she had never known.
Two days later she received a message from one of Hall's other daughters who sent him the post.
"I thought it was a shot in the dark. It probably doesn't turn out this well that often," Plessinger said.
Now just three weeks after that shot in the dark Plessinger traveled more than 800 miles from her home in Colorado to Mesa to finally meet her father.
"We're speechless, can't say too much," Hall said.
