Free drug test kits passed out in Valley

MESA, AZ - Valley parents can get their hands on drug test kits Friday.

Rural/Metro, First Check and notMYkid.org will pass out the free kits until 5:00 p.m. at seven Valley locations.

According to notMYkid Founder Debbie Moak 4/20 or "get high day" is the biggest day to get high and the day kids most often start experimenting with drugs.

She says parents can use the kits as a prevention tool at home.

They help kids avoid peer pressure situations by empowering them to say, "No, I can't, my parents might drug test me," says Moak.

According to drugfreeaz.org , nearly half of 12 graders in Arizona have tried pot, ecstasy use has doubled since 2008 and more kids are using heroin. But on the contrary, statistics show teens in Arizona are using less meth.
