MESA, AZ - Mesa police were called out to a home earlier this month after a former Phoenix VA employee threatened to take his own life.
Brad Curry was terminated from last month after a scandal broke out about the VA hospital neglecting patient care and a so-called secret waiting list.
Curry was the Chief of Health Administration services. He along with three others were terminated after it was discovered at least 40 veterans died while waiting for care.
Curry's family called 911 claiming he had a gun and was going to hurt himself.
Mesa police fired three beanbag rounds and used a stun gun on Curry before he started to cooperate.
The police report states an ER doctor allowed Curry to deny care.
Curry also didn't want any information on mental health counseling.
