PHOENIX - Family members of a man beaten to death begged a judge to keep the suspects responsible for his death behind bars.
The family of Daniel Gomez spoke during an initial court appearance on Monday.
Genero Silva was arrested and charged with murder after police say he used a hammer to beat Gomez to death inside a Mesa apartment.
According to court paper work, Silva admitted to doing this after he walked into the bedroom and found Gomez with his girlfriend, Vanessa Mendoza.
Investigators say Silva, Mendoza, and two other suspects, including Mendoza's mother Sylvia Olivas and Christopher Alejo, wrapped Gomez's body to dispose of it.
Police said the body was taken to a wash on the Salt River Indian Community and burned.
