A deadly pedestrian-involved crash shut down a portion of the US 60 early Tuesday morning.

According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, a person was struck near Val Vista Drive. They confirmed the collision was deadly.

DPS said troopers received calls just after 3:00 a.m. of a body in the roadway. When troopers arrived on the scene they found the body of a male victim in the middle lane of traffic. The body appeared to have been hit several times by passing drivers.

DPS is asking drivers that were traveling in the area to check the undercarriages of their vehicles for damage.

Westbound traffic was shut down on US 60 for several hours for the investigation but has since reopened.
