MESA, AZ - Cubs Park, the largest Spring Training facility in the Cactus League, opened to the public Saturday with guided tours, live music and food.
The new Cubs Park is designed to make fans feel just like they're at Wrigley Field in Chicago. It's the Cactus League's largest Spring Training facility, and even the field is proportionate to the size of its inspiration in Chicago. Players can use the park for training year-round.
The park at Rio Salado Parkway and Dobson Road has room for more than 15,000 fans in the seats or on the lawn. Riverview Park, right beside the new stadium, also underwent a revamp.
Saturday's grand opening was free and open to the public from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m.
