A boy was rescued on Monday morning after he ended up in a Mesa canal.
The incident happened in a canal near Ellsworth and Ray roads around 11:00 a.m. on Monday.
According to Mesa fire, the 11-year-old boy was in the canal for several miles.
Karis Lange, a mother who recently moved to the Valley and lives near the canal, says she'll be having a conversation with her two kids about the dangers it can pose.
"There'll be a dinner discussion about water safety and staying out of rising water," Lange said.
Air15 video showed emergency personnel carrying the boy to an ambulance where he was treated for minor injuries.
No other information is known at this time.
