A new, booming neighborhood in the Valley is one of the fastest growing in the country.

Eastmark, is a master-planned community in far-southeast Mesa. The developers said they've already sold more than 750 homes this year.

"Everyone is loving and excited about being here, and we really have a sense of community," said homeowner Dee Merrill.

However, there are some growing pains. A 2-year-old elementary school is already full, and already has portable classrooms.

"People move in all year long from all across the country," said Gateway Polytechnic Academy Principal Allison Carmichael. "We're enrolling daily."

To build more schools in the area, the Queen Creek Unified School District is asking voters to approve a $63 million bond this fall.

Eastmark's new neighbors are also stretching city resources, according to some city officials.

Mesa Mayor John Giles said, "Hiring additional personnel, particularly public safety personnel to service these thousands of new people, that is a challenge for us."
