THURSDAY: Gilbert high school holding mental health awareness event for parents, educators

A Gilbert high school is encouraging parents and educators to attend a mental health awareness event on Thursday.

On Thursday, Sept. 14, Campo Verde High School is holding an event in the cafeteria which aims to offer tips when it comes to recognizing mental health issues in young people. 

There will be several speakers present including a spokesperson for The National Center for Brain Development for Boys and Addiction Haven, an organization which educates people about addiction.

Attendees of the free event should be 16 and older. The first 150 people to arrive will receive a free information bag and every person will receive a folder with information about mental health resources in the east Valley.

People are encouraged to wear the school colors of their children’s school or the school that they work for.

Parking instructions:
Attendees are encouraged to park on the west side of the campus. Enter campus through the west gates and the cafeteria is on the left side. Look for signs guiding you.
