An arrest has been made in connection with a Gilbert house fire last week.
Patrick Barnes is accused of setting fire to his home near Copper and Warner roads.
Officials said the house was vacant and up for sale. When crews arrived, they found the home fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters said the structure suffered significant damage.
Investigators determined the fire to be suspicious in nature and began an arson investigation.
Police said Barnes was arrested Thursday and booked into jail for arson.
