GILBERT, AZ - It's unclear if a shirtless man who scaled a Gilbert water tower Monday will face charges.
According to Gilbert police Sgt. Jesse Sanger, 35-year-old Donald Christie spent more than an hour Monday morning climbing up and down the tower. He was spotted by an employee at a nearby market, who notified police.
Sanger said the man got inside the tower and "did break some items up there." It's unclear what prompted him to make the trek, but Sanger suggested drugs may have played a role.
Sanger says he suspects the heat is what led the man to come down the metal tower, uninjured.
