PD: Teen admits to Gilbert robberies, arson

GILBERT, AZ - A 16-year-old boy has admitted to several burglaries and arsons recently in Gilbert.

Jesse Sanger, spokesman for the Gilbert Police Department, said the teenager was caught Friday morning.  Property from the burglaries were retrieved at his home.

The teenager admitted to the burglaries and arsons near Recker and Warner Roads, Sanger said.

Police said a few of the vehicles sustained damage, including slashed tires, a broken windshield and arson.

Officials said at least 9 incidents of theft have been reported.

Authorities would like to remind people to lock their vehicles and to not leave valuables inside them.
