GILBERT, AZ - Two brothers were booked into jail Saturday morning after an aggressive armed robbery that took place at a 99 Cent Store at 2070 South Power Road.
According to Gilbert Police, who also responded to the scene just before 9:40 a.m., two males tried to leave the store without paying after packing store merchandise in reusable shopping bags.
The 64-year-old store manager reportedly tried to contact the suspects near the door, but was pushed to the ground and assaulted by one of the suspects. Three female employees were also assaulted by one of the suspects as they came to the aid of the manager.
One of the females sustained a minor injury during the assault.
Gilbert Police say the men left the merchandise in the store and fled by foot, but one was later found inside the Goodwill store in the same shopping complex.
Police identified the suspect as 22-year-old Mesa resident, Joshua Taylor Wroe.
Dylan Tyler Wroe, Joshua's 20-year-old brother, had reportedly filed a job application at the 99 Cent Store recently before the incident. He was later located by police and also detained, according to Gilbert Police.
Both suspects were booked for aggravated robbery.
