GILBERT, AZ - A rally was held Saturday night for 23 dogs that died in connection with a Gilbert boarding facility last month.
At 7:30 p.m. supporters began a march from Perry High School to Green Acre Dog Boarding where a new memorial for the dogs was unveiled.
Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio attended the event and sent out a tweet saying hundreds of people had turned out.

Arpaio told the crowd that his office's investigation into the facility is ongoing and no charges have been filed.
The owners of the facility maintain the heat-related deaths were an accident. Reportedly one of the dogs chewed through a wire to the air conditioner, shutting it off.
