We are getting our first look inside the newly finished Gilbert Mormon Temple.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints released photos of various rooms inside the 83,000-square-foot building located on the southeast corner of Greenfield and Pecos roads.
The photos include images of the entrance, waiting room, baptismal font, instruction room, celestial room and marriage room.
The church invited the media to attend a preview tour and speak with the head of the Church's temple department, Elder William R. Walker. Cameras are not allowed inside the building.
The Mormon church expects hundreds of thousands of visitors to walk through the temple as they allow rare public access. The free tours begin Saturday Jan. 18 and run Monday – Saturday until Feb. 15. Tour reservations can be made on the the Gilbert Mormon Temple's website.
The building will be formally dedicated on March 2 by church President Thomas S. Monson, at which time only members of the church in good standing will be allowed inside.
