A worker who was spraying weed repellent from a truck was struck and injured by another vehicle in Chandler on Wednesday morning.

According to the Chandler Fire Department, a man was driving down the road in his work truck spraying weed repellent on the roadway. The man was in the far left lane near Queen Creek and Gilbert roads traveling at a speed of less than five miles per hour.

A woman, who had three children in the car with her, rear-ended the weed truck.

The man in the truck wasn't able to stop his vehicle and went about 50 to 60 feet down the road until he hit a light pole. He was taken to a hospital for treatment of his injuries.

The woman was wearing a seatbelt and the three children were in car seats. They were not injured.

A tank carrying the repellent fell off the truck and hazmat crews were called in to help clean up.
