The Chandler Fire Department has named its next Fire Chief.
City Manager Marsha Reed announced Friday that Tom Dwiggins has been selected to lead the Chandler Fire Department. He's been leading the department on the interim since January after then-chief Jeff Clark retired.
"Tom offers expertise and relationships to effectively lead our Fire, Health & Medical Department," said Reed in a prepared statement.
Dwiggins was hired to the department as a firefighter in 1998. Through the years he's held every rank, including Assistant Fire Chief in 2014, according to a media release.
He is a graduate of Grand Canyon University.
He starts his new position on May 23.
