Police say Valley thieves are evolving, with the latest incident involving a newly-discovered skimmer at a Chandler bank.

According to Chandler police, a suspect got away about $15,000 after installing a skimmer at the Arizona Bank & Trust near 56th Street and Ray Road.

Chandler police believe eight bank customers were compromised and the suspects attempted purchases occurred in Phoenix, Laveen and Tempe.

The bank received a number of disputed charges which caused them to research the time period of the fraudulent purchases.

It is believed the suspect installed the skimmer on October 27, then returned the following day and removed the device.

Chandler police spokesman Seth Tyler said police believe one or two suspects may be involved. Anyone who recognizes the suspect is asked to contact Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.

The suspects were last seen leaving in a white four-door vehicle with a dollar sign on the rear drivers side window.

So far in 2017, 50 skimming devices have been found at gas stations around our state. The discovery in Chandler marks the first known skimmer at a banking facility.
