Dobson Road in Chandler has been reopened after crews worked to fix a gas leak Wednesday evening.
A Chandler police spokesman said a driver likely suffered a medical emergency and crashed, causing the gas leak near Dobson and Willis roads.
The driver has been taken to the hospital and is recovering, according to police.
Nine homes were evacuated. Southwest Gas crews were on scene to repair the leak. All roads were reopened just before 7 p.m.
