PD: Man shot by police after setting Chandler house on fire

CHANDLER, AZ - Authorities say a man was shot by police Thursday night after setting a house on fire and refusing to come out.

Chandler police spokesman Seth Tyler said the incident started around 9:30 p.m near Arizona Avenue and Chandler Boulevard.

Tyler said crews were called to the scene to investigate a domestic violence situation.

When officers arrived, a woman was outside and a man was inside the home and refused to come out.

Tyler said the man set the house on fire and at some point was shot by officers. 

His condition is unknown at this time.
