PD: Chandler burglary suspect ends up in Mesa crash

CHANDLER, AZ - Police say a Chandler burglary suspect ended up in a serious crash Monday in Mesa.

A 17-year-old girl got home around 12:30 p.m. to find the suspect, Gabriel Juan Lamb, 25, at her home near Loop 202 and Alma School Road, said Chandler police Sgt. Joe Favazzo.

She was able to get Lamb's license plate number and description, Favazzo said.

Lamb reportedly left in a gold sedan at a high rate of speed, and a Chandler police officer followed the vehicle through a neighborhood near the Chandler/Mesa border.

Favazzo said the officer tried to make a traffic stop, but Lamb fled.

Lamb was then involved in a collision near Alma School and Guadalupe roads in Mesa, said Favazzo.

Lamb then ran from the scene and was apprehended by a Mesa police detective, according to Favazzo.

He said Lamb was taken to a local hospital in unknown condition.

Two others were also transported, and they may have serious injuries, Favazzo said.
