Several Chandler residents plan to protest Salt River Project's plan to build power lines through their neighborhood.

SRP says it needs to get more power to Chandler’s Price Corridor for current companies and to attract new businesses. Not having a reliable power source could pull the plug on new businesses or homes along Chandler’s Price Corridor.

SRP plans to get the power from a substation several miles away through power lines built in neighborhoods.

Homeowners want SRP to build the power lines underground but SRP says it’s too expensive.

Upset residents say the power lines would obstruct their view of South Mountain, hurt home values and lower quality of life.

There's a protest planned for Thursday night at Chandler’s City council meeting.
