Girl, 3, pulled from bottom of Chandler pool

CHANDLER, AZ - A 3-year-old girl was found at the bottom of a Chandler pool on Monday evening, fire officials said.

The girl was at a home near McQueen and Ocotillo roads at a family gathering; shortly before 8 p.m. the girl left to use the restroom, but no one in the home saw her return.

The child was later located by her father at the bottom of the pool. Family members said she was under the water for about 30 seconds.

Family members began CPR efforts on the child after pulling her out and the girl was crying when fire officials arrived at the home. The girl was taken to a children's hospital for treatment.

The Chandler Fire Department said there was a fence around the pool.
