CHANDLER, AZ - Concerned Chandler residents are meeting with representatives of Salt River Project Thursday night to discuss the company's plans to install new high-power lines and substations.
Some residents are worried that the 130-to-154 foot power lines could damage their property values in southwest Chandler.
SRP says the new lines are needed to meet commercial and industrial demand. It will take its final plan to the Arizona Corporation Commission to get it signed, but that's not expected to happen before the fall.
The meeting will take place at 6 p.m. at the Oakwood Ballroom at 24218 S. Oakwood Boulevard in Chandler. Four more community meetings are scheduled for June.
