Chandler police arrest Julie Wood and Jacob Benton Arledge on suspicion of stealing from a U-Haul

CHANDLER, AZ - Chandler police arrested a mother and her son Thursday after they allegedly stole items worth about $63,000 from a U-Haul facility.

According to the Chandler Police Department, Julie Wood, 54, and her son, Jacob Benton Arledge, 25, allegedly burglarized a U-Haul five times. The facility is located near Kyrene Road and Chandler Boulevard.

Police said Wood was an assistant manager at the U-Haul. They added that because there was no forced entry, they believed an employee was involved.

Wood also stole credit cards and attempted to use them to make purchases.

During a search of Wood's home, police found all the missing items.

Police said Wood and Arledge face burglary and theft-control of stolen property charges.

Arledge also faces fraud charges.
