CHANDLER - The SAT test may be one of the most stressful things for high school students, but one Basha High School senior isn’t worried about it anymore.
That is because Samantha Bouchal did what few people can--she got a perfect 2400 score on her first try.
“I kept looking at the scores online and refreshing them," she said. “I didn’t believe it at first.”
Principal Ken James said he has never seen a student receive a perfect score in his career.
“I knew Samantha is smart but thought ‘You’ve got to be kidding,’” he laughed. “It’s great bragging rights for the school.”
Samantha said she has always loved academia the same way other kids may love sports.
“I always loved textbooks,” she smiled. “I know that probably makes me sound nerdy.”
Samantha also plays the piano and enjoys theater.
She plans on studying medicine in college and is trying to figure out where she will go to school.
“I can only hope the score will help but I know colleges are very competitive,” she said. “I know extracurricular activities are important to standout.”
For her senior year, Samantha says she is focusing on her research project and is taking college-level courses. She says she still has a lot to accomplish.
