Two people were rescued from a washout in Apache Junction after their vehicles became lodged under a bridge.
On Saturday evening around 6:20 p.m., fire crews were called out to Southern Avenue and Mountain View Road.
Two vehicles were swept down a washout after both attempted to cross moving water in the area. The cars traveled about 60 feet in the water and became lodged under a bridge.
Each vehicle had a driver in it at the time; both occupants were helped out thanks to by-standers who assisted prior to the fire department's arrival.
There were no injures in the water rescue, Apache Junction Fire Department officials said.
