Superstition Fire and Medical team sing for 'Good Morning America' contest

APACHE JUNCTION, AZ - They got big attention online with a video they hoped would cash in for their community.

We're talking about the the Superstition Fire and Medical team who tested their talents competing in Good Morning America's Five Alarm Firefighter Challenge with a video of the team lip syncing to the song "Safe and Sound."

The winning department will receive $10,000 and some members will get flown to New York to appear on the show.

"Some of us were really comfortable in front of the camera which was really funny," said Captain Jon Williamson.

Firefighter Jackie Anderson came up with the idea.  They tried to memorize the lyrics as much as possible but also had them printed up.

They made it through the first round but just found out they didn't make it to the finals.

They are still thankful for all the attention they got from it and are determined to try again.
