APACHE JUNCTION, AZ - A Valley Waffle House is back open after someone fired shots into the building with customers and workers inside last Saturday.
"At first I thought someone threw a rock," said Jacob Lachapelle, who works behind the counter as a cook at the Apache Junction eatery. "Then I figured it out and hit the deck and called 911."
Lachapelle said a few couples were in the restaurant at the time of the shooting, Saturday night around 6:30 p.m.
Nobody was hurt, but Jacob said three large windows were shattered, and one customer had glass in his beard.
Police came by and investigated the shooting, and the restaurant was back open in a few hours.
Later, workers found a bullet in the parking lot and part of a bullet inside near some coffee cups.
Police have not been back to pick up the possible evidence. They did not return calls to ABC15 News for this story.
