A driver was investigated for impairment after their car crashed into Canyon Lake on Saturday night, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
DPS said troopers responded to the area of SR-88 at milepost 209 just after 11 p.m. for a report of a car that crashed and ended up in the lake.
Troopers say the car was traveling on SR-88 when the driver failed to negotiate the curve, causing the car to go down the embankment and into the lake.
The driver was able to get out of the car on their own and was located by troopers and deputies from the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office, according to DPS.
Troopers and deputies searched the area extensively and believe there were no other occupants at the time of the crash.
