APACHE JUNCTION, AZ - Several water rescues were reported Sunday afternoon after heavy rainfall across the Valley.
Air15 video showed two men being rescued off an "island" with their truck stuck nearby in Apache Junction.
A helicopter lifted them off the piece of land around 2:30 p.m. near Chaparral Road and Superstition Boulevard.
ABC15 caught up with the pair, Kris Stein and Steven Hoelbl, who said they were out storm watching when in the blink of an eye the storm caught up with them.
The flash flood started to swallow up Kris's Bronco and the two 19-year-olds ended up climbing a tree to safety.
When they saw a helicopter they called police dispatch.
Steven was harnessed up first and lifted from the tree.
When it was Kris's turn he knew he was being rescued so he pulled out his phone and started to record the whole thing. He also found time to send out a few tweets.
Both men were OK.
