A deadly three-car crash closed eastbound lanes of the I-10 west of the Valley Friday morning.

DPS says the crash occurred near Miller Road (milepost 114), two miles east of SR-85, west of the Valley.

DPS says the driver of a pickup truck swerved for unknown reasons, overcorrected and crossed into the median into oncoming traffic. The semi-truck traveling eastbound hit another vehicle trying to avoid the truck, and then rolled over.

The driver of the pickup truck was killed and the other two drivers were injured, but details are still limited on their conditions.

DPS says the name of the driver who was killed is Ricardo Vasquez, a 24-year-old from Avondale.

There were significant delays during the closure, but ADOT said I-10 reopened after 10 a.m.
