Police are looking for a suspect vehicle in connection with a deadly hit-and-run Saturday night.

Officers responded to the area of 39th Avenue and Camelback Road just before 7 p.m. for a report of a crash between a car and pedestrian.

Witnesses told police a pedestrian was crossing Camelback Road when she was hit by a silver vehicle heading east. The victim, identified as a 61-year-old Christine Hamblen, was pronounced dead at the scene. The vehicle did not remain at the crash site, according to a release from the Phoenix Police Department.

Police say the suspect vehicle is possibly a silver 2008 Chevrolet Impala with dark tinted windows. Investigators believe it has damage to the headlights and front fender. It was last seen heading east on Camelback from 39th Avenue, police said.

Traffic restrictions on Camelback Road between 39th and 43rd avenues remained in place as of 9:30 p.m., police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Phoenix Police Department.
