PHOENIX - A young child is in the hands of Child Protective Services while police talk to the parents, who apparently left him behind at a Phoenix store on Saturday.
Phoenix police Sgt. Steve Martos said the 2- to 3-year-old boy was found alone at a Walmart near 75th Avenue and Encanto Drive.
The toddler may have been there for two or three hours, according to Martos.
Child Protective Services was called to take the child.
The parents returned to the store and police are talking with them.
Martos didn’t know whether the child would be returned to the parents tonight.
