A woman returning to her apartment to check on her cats found her husband in bed with another woman and stabbed both individuals.

Court documents show that 21-year-old Karyssa Lynn Butterfield had a fight with her husband and left their apartment  near 61st and Northern avenues for a week.

On January 14th, she returned to check on her cats and found her husband and another woman in bed sleeping.

Police say she grabbed an 8-inch kitchen knife, entered the bedroom and stabbed the woman in the back and her husband in the shoulder.

The woman left the apartment, traveled to her grandma's house in Sun City where she called police and was arrested.

Both victims needed stitches to close their wounds, but are expected to be okay.

Butterfield is facing two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
