MCSO: Woman dies after truck drives into oncoming traffic

AVONDALE, AZ - A deadly car crash left one woman dead after a truck drove into oncoming traffic Tuesday night.

According to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office, 69-year-old Carol Squire was driving westbound on Indian School Road near 104th Drive when a truck traveling eastbound hit her car.

A truck driver, in his 20s, told sheriff deputies that a vehicle had turned in front of his car and he went into oncoming traffic.

Officials transported Squire to a hospital for “precautionary reasons” but Squire later died at the hospital, according to the sheriff's office.

Officials closed the road, but opened after detectives finished their investigation around 6 a.m. Wednesday morning.

Officials cited the truck driver at the scene.
