MCSO takes Capuchin monkey away from Phoenix man's home

PHOENIX - Officers on Thursday have taken away a male Capuchin monkey found living in what detectives described as the home of a hoarder, according to the Maricopa County Sheriff's office.

The sheriff's office said it was alerted from a tip by a caller to investigate a home in the area of 59th Avenue and Thomas Road. At the home, detectives found the monkey to be in extremely poor living conditions.

Detectives are in the process of tranquilizing the monkey to prepare it for relocation in Prescott at the Heritage Zoological Society, which specializes in housing primates, according to the sheriff's office.
