PHOENIX - Authorities said a man has been taken into police custody after leading police on a three-hour pursuit on the west side of the state.
DPS Officer Carrick Cook said DPS received a call from California High Patrol involving a reckless driver heading towards Arizona on Interstate 10.
California officers caught up to the white Toyota Tacoma Truck near milepost 8 around 6 p.m., according to Cook. Authorities said the driver reached speeds in excess of 90 mph and attempted to ram a semi-truck during the pursuit.
Cook said the semi-truck driver lost control and almost rolled the vehicle.
Officers then intentionally crashed into the driver of the truck, which rolled into the media near milepost 58 just before 9 p.m., Cook said.
The driver attempted to flee on foot, but was caught by officers, Tased and air lifted to Banner Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix.
The suspect's condition was not released.
