PHOENIX - The Arizona Humane Society’s south Valley facility is closed today for cleanup after Tuesday’s storm rolled through the area.
The AHS Campus for Compassion at 15th Avenue and Dobbins Road suffered some damage from flooding in the area.
Spokeswoman Bretta Nelson said many staff members were stranded for hours at the facility, and that no one was injured, including any animals.
Nelson said that due to limited access, road closures and storm cleanup the facility would be closed on Wednesday but reopen on Thursday.
Volunteers and staff are working today to clean up the grounds and the interior areas that were damaged, Nelson said.
AHS clinic staff is working to reschedule appointments for the upcoming days.
