Police say a man has died following a multiple-car crash in Phoenix overnight.

According to information from the scene near 24th Street and Roeser Road, three cars were involved in the crash around 9 p.m. Thursday.

A police spokesperson says a Chevrolet Camaro was heading northbound on 24th Street just before Roeser Road when the driver struck a Hummer, which was also heading northbound on 24th Street.

The Camaro rolled multiple times and ejected the male driver from the car, officials said. The man, later identified as 40-year-old Augustin Galindo Chavez, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Other vehicles at the scene were also damaged. The driver and the passenger in the Hummer suffered minor injuries.

The cause of the crash has not yet been determined but speed does appear to be a factor.
