Hikers rescued a transient man who was living by the Javelina Trail on South Mountain.

According to the Phoenix Fire Department, a 50-year-old man with an "altered mental status" was on the trail and in need of assistance. A mountain biker came across the man who was lying down.

Crews were able to reach the man and started IV fluid treatments on him before carrying him down the mountain.
