PD: Man kills brother in Phoenix stabbing

PHOENIX - One man is in custody after allegedly stabbing his brother in an altercation in south Phoenix.

According to Phoenix police officer James Holmes, 47-year-old Kelvin Mitchell and 49-year-old Roosevelt Mitchell Jr. were involved in an altercation in the yard of a home near 15th Avenue and Baseline Sunday night.

Kelvin Mitchell Jr. was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead, Holmes said.

Kelvin's brother Roosevelt Mitchell Jr. was booked into jail on 2nd degree murder charges.

No other information has been released.
