PD: Dog stabbed during Phoenix burglary

PHOENIX - Police are looking for the suspects who stabbed a dog during a home burglary in Phoenix.

According to Phoenix police Sgt. Tommy Thompson, the burglary happened Wednesday afternoon near 59th Avenue and Dobbins Road.

Thompson said the residents came home to find their walls damaged and liquids from the refrigerator tossed around the house.

The suspects were able to find a samurai sword in the home and allegedly used it to stab a 3-year-old Shi Tzu that was in its kennel.

The family took their dog to a veterinarian, but due to injuries had to put it down.
