The Pinal County Sheriff's Office is investigating a possible animal cruelty case in San Tan Valley.
According to a PCSO spokesperson, a witness saw a dog being dragged by a white truck on Thursday, Feb. 16.
Photos from a witness were also posted to a local Facebook page. Images have been blurred in the photo above.
The investigation is ongoing but officials said that the incident may have been an accident and the driver didn't realize that the dog fell out of the truck's bed.
The dog has since died, PCSO confirmed.
No additional information was released.
