Firefighters working first alarm Phoenix recycling fire

PHOENIX - Officials are working to extinguish a large fire at a recycling yard in south Phoenix.

According to Phoenix fire, the fire near 35th Avenue and Lower Buckeye Road broke out at 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday.

When firefighters arrived on the scene they found a large pile of scrap burning close to machinery.

Firefighters were able to isolate the fire to the original scrap pile, officials said.

There are approximately 50 firefighters on the scene.

There have been no reports of injuries.
