FD: 2 killed in West Phoenix crash

PHOENIX - Phoenix police are on the scene of an accident in which two people have died.

The three-vehicle accident happened around 6:50 p.m. Saturday on 83rd Avenue, south of Buckeye Road.

Two adults died at the scene, according to the Phoenix Fire Department. Both were drivers in large SUVs.

It appears the SUVs hit head-on.

An adult female in the third car was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, according to the Phoenix Fire Department.

Phoenix police Sgt. Tommy Thompson said the intersection at Pomo Street will be blocked for some time for the investigation.
