Arizona Humane Society looking for help after flooding

PHOENIX - The Arizona Humane Society is in need of donations after Tuesday’s storms.

The shelter in South Phoenix was surrounded by flood water during the storm.

The wash built a few years ago saved the building and the animals from any flooding. But now the wash is damaged.

“We need to replace the wash because what if another monsoon storm rolls through,” said Bretta Nelson, Arizona Humane Society spokeswoman.

Also, the irrigation system is exposed and broken.

And, they have several down trees.

Estimated damage is $25,000 and most won’t be covered with insurance.

Go to the Arizona Humane Society website to make a donation.
