PHOENIX - Police are investigating what led to a multiple-vehicle collision that sent five people to the hospital Friday evening.
A Phoenix Fire Department spokesperson said emergency units responded to the scene of the 8-car crash at 35th Avenue and Buckeye just after 5 p.m.
Three men, one woman and a young girl were injured in the wreck. All were transported to local hospitals, but the extent of their injuries is unknown.
Officials said several of those injured had to be extricated from their vehicles.
It is unclear at this time what caused the crash.
