PHOENIX - One person has been hospitalized after a fire broke out at a north Phoenix motel Thursday morning.
Phoenix fire Capt. Tony Mure said the fire was contained to one second-floor room at the Motel 6 at Interstate 17 and Northern Avenue.
Mure said the 25-year-old male victim was taken to a local hospital in critical condition with life-threatening injuries. His injuries include burns to his body and smoke inhalation.
Officials said he was found in the bathtub.
The fire reportedly started at the front of his room near the air conditioner.
Other guests were evacuated but are now being let back into their rooms.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
